Coconut Pecan Bars

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cups granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cups finely chopped pecans, divided
  • 2/3 cup butter, divided
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package M&M’S® MINIS® Milk Chocolate Candies
  • 3/4 cup shredded coconut

Directions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • 2. Lightly grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan; set aside.
  • 3. In large bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour and 1/2 cup chopped pecans; add 2 tablespoons melted butter and mix well.
  • 4. Press mixture into bottom of prepared pan.
  • 5. Bake 10 minutes or until set; cool slightly.
  • 6. In mixing bowl, cream remaining butter and remaining 1/4 cup sugar; add egg whites, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • 7. Blend in vanilla.
  • 8. Combine coconut and remaining pecans; sprinkle over batter.
  • 9. Sprinkle M&M’S® MINIS® Milk Chocolate Candies over coconut and pecans; pat down lightly.
  • 10. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until set.
  • 11. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
  • 12. Store in tightly-covered container.
