• Yield: Makes 24 cupcakes.

• 1 box (18 oz.) your favorite cake mix
• 2 cups prepared whipped vanilla frosting
• Food coloring
• 48 pieces (approximately 2 ⅓ cups) STARBURST® Fruit Chews
• 1 cup Conversation Hearts
• ⅔ cups M&M’S® Brand Chocolate Candies for Valentine’s
• 2 (12-cup) muffin tins
• 24 paper cupcake liners
• 1 tube of red decorative frosting, with plain tip
• 1 resealable plastic bag

• 1. Line the muffin tins with paper cupcake liners. Prepare the cake mix according to the directions on the package. Spoon ⅔ cup of batter into each prepared muffin cup. Bake according to the directions on the package.
• 2. Let the cupcakes cool to room temperature.
• 3. Spoon 1/4 cup of vanilla frosting into a resealable plastic bag, and set aside.
• 4. Stir in two or three drops of food coloring to the remaining vanilla frosting, just enough to tint it. Spread the cupcakes with a layer of tinted frosting.
• To Make the Hair:
• 5. Soften STARBURST® Fruit Chews between your fingers, flattening them slightly. Snip the softened candies 3/4 of the way through, making sure the "hairs" are still attached. Place at the cupcakes’ tops. (Hair can also be made from the orange or yellow icing instead of the STARBURST® Fruit Chews.)
• For Eyes:
• 6. Dab frosting to the back of M&M’S® Brand Chocolate Candies and press them onto the face of each cupcake. (SKITTLES® Brand Bite Size Candies can also be used for the eyes.)
• For Ears and Noses:
• 7. Press M&M’S® Brand Chocolate Candies into the cupcakes’ tops. For smiles: Pipe lines of red decorative frosting. (M&M’S® Brand Chocolate Candies can also be used for the ears and noses.)
• For Braces:
• 8. Add lines of M&M’S® Brand Chocolate Candies.
• For Dimples:
• 9. Attach Conversation Hearts to the cupcake’s "cheeks".
